Hi there!
I have started a new series of roleplaying supplements. This time it is about exciting places that can provide inspiration for your roleplaying campaign. Check out the screenshot below.

The concept here is quite simple. You open a two-page spread and get the following:
1 place name
1 map
4 plots/story hooks
6 NPCs
6 locations
You can add these to your roleplaying game and improvise from them as you wish. If you want chance to rule, you roll a die on the chosen table.
Let's say, for example, that the adventurers are new visitors to Oak Corner, and you want to introduce a new NPC. You roll a six-sided die on the "D6 NPC's" table, and it lands on 2:
"Chief Grarud Skullcracker, an unreliable female half-orc. She is looking for a healer for her tribe."
This NPC leads to many questions that can be answered. She is chief of a tribe, but what kind of people are they really? It says she is looking for a healer for her tribe. Are they sick? What kind of illness do they have? Why did they get sick? It says she is unreliable, but in what way? Will she betray the heroes after they help her? What happens if they refuse to help her?
That is how you use this book, as a basis for improvisation and development in roleplaying games. A source of nearly endless adventure. I am quite sure a similar technique can be used in fiction writing as well.
I have planned five volumes, five small books, in this series. Volume 1 took me somewhere between 15 and 20 hours to complete, split between concept development, graphic design, and writing. Now that I have made a template for layout and graphic design, I will be able to cut the time down considerably on the next releases. Maybe down toward 5 hours per book? We'll see.
If you are curious about the book, you can check it out here.
